Dr. Bayoumi is an Egyptian-Canadian neurosurgeon interested in the surgical treatment of disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord and spine. He is board certified by EANS (European Association of Neurosurgical Societies) and FEBNS (Fellow of the European Board of Neurosurgery). He is interested in dealing with a wide range of cranial and spinal neurosurgical diseases in both adult and pediatric age groups with a special focus on degenerative spine diseases, spine fractures, spine deformities, spine infections and spine tumors. Ahmed graduated from Ain Shams University with honors to be appointed as a resident and fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Ain Shams University Specialized Hospitals where he obtained his Master’s degree (MSc) for his thesis on the surgical management of lumbar spondylolisthesis. He had the opportunity to join Harvard Medical School (HMS) in Boston, Massachusetts as a research fellow/fellow with his mentor Dr. Ekkehard Kasper, Ph.D., to conduct several research studies and attend several national and international conference meetings. He moved to Istanbul, Turkey to join BAU (Bahcesehir University) as a clinical spine fellow and research fellow in the Rotton Laboratory where he co-directed several skull base surgery fellowships with renowned neurosurgeons such as Dr. Mufti and Dr. Oliveira. He was mentored by Dr. Turker Kılıç, M.D., Ph.D. He was an instructor of neurology at the same institution teaching MS and PhD students. At the same time, he earned his MBA from BAU. He later immigrated to Ontario, Canada to join McMaster University as a clinical fellow in the Department of Neurosurgery at Hamilton General Hospital to work under Dr. Cenik and Dr. Kashur. He was trained in spine surgery and neuro-oncology at McMaster University.
